Speaker: Charles Karanja, Kenyan Manager of Makena Children’s Foundation, and Anne Batzer, current Foundation President.

Makena Foundation was started in 1996 to support the community and children of Naivasha Maraigushu Kenya. Charles says “This noble course is important to Kenya because children of very poor families get a chance to rise against all odds and become helpful to their village, to Kenya and even some to the world. It’s evident that education is the only weapon against poverty and helps bring establishment.”

Anne shared a letter from our club sponsored program recipient David Maina. This letter is attached for you to view.

Charles was asked after the presentation to comment on the most notable thing he has observed on this his first visit to America. He stated we have clean water for all. He wishes for everyone to have this, in Kenya this does not happen.
