4-Way Test Speech contest at DisCon ’26
Josephine Janeway presented her speech, “The Ethics of Convenience”, to our club as part of our 4-way Test Speech contest on April 8th. Josephine won $500 for her first-place finish that day, along with the opportunity of representing our club at the District Conference.
The 4-Way Test Speech contest was held at the District Conference on Saturday May 16th. Ten contestants competed for three final spots and the chance to present their speeches in front of the entire conference of almost 300 attendees.
Josephine, a senior at St. Mary’s, was one of the three finalists and won the $1000 third-place prize. All three finalists were absolutely amazing making the judges job very difficult. Josephine’s speech concluded with a powerful reminder that character is defined not by what is available to us, but by the choices we make.
Congratulations Josephine for an exceptional job.
Thank you Marissa Poling and Kelly Soter for leading our club’s 4-Way Contest this year. Great job!
