Free Online Peace Game for Rotarians – Apr 7 – Jun 2
Peace is one of Rotary’s Core Areas of Focus. Medford Rogue’s newly formed Peace Team wants to share an amazing opportunity to learn more about what each of us can do to bring about greater peace in our lives, families and communities.
Rotary International promotes peace as a core area of focus by tackling the underlying causes of conflict—poverty, inequality, and lack of education—through community service projects, advocacy, and training. Rotary empowers peacebuilders through fellowships, mediation training, and youth programs, aiming to build sustainable, long-term peace. There are many opportunities to support, promote and enhance peace.
The Rotary Peace Game strengthens peace building leadership, fellowship and community impact of Rotarians and Rotary Clubs. It weaves the Four Way Test and the Pillars of Positive Peace into seven peace practices that enable practical, structured, and service-driven action. Here is what just a few of the over 250 Rotarians around the world who have played the Peace Game have to say:
- “I am glad that so many Rotarians are becoming involved with the Peace Game. I’m grateful for the wonderful work it is doing to further peace in the world.” – Stephanie Urchick, Rotary International Past President, and Board Member of the Peace Game
- “Playing the Peace Game is one of the most important activities we can do to create peace in our lives and communities.” – Al Jubitz, Co-founder of Rotary Action Group for Peace and President of the Jubitz Family Foundation.
- “The Peace Game was a game-changer for me. Its synergistic set of actions created meaningful, long-lasting peace in my life and helped me ripple out these effects to others. It has impacted my relationships, my professional activities, and my daily practices. – Tami Briggs, Rotary E-Club of World Peace.
The Zoom-based Peace game is free for anyone to join and starts April 7 – June 2. The Peace Game meetings are divided into two parts – the first 60 minutes is the formal Peace Game. The second 30 minutes is the master class for those on the facilitator track. The game itself involves diving into core practices of peace involving self-reflection and actions that will build confidence and self effectiveness.
