Communication is the hub of any healthy relationship and yet we have quick barriers we put in place when discussing politics. Personal opinion and life experiences shape our stance on politics. What if we had communication tools to help put aside personal barriers and biases so each person could talk freely and without fear of judgement. How would that shape and grow us to be a stronger community as and love and unity replace discord and anger?
Braver Angels started this work in 2016 when they saw the damage and divide in people over politics. Formally put into place in 2018 and now doing good work to bridge the gap of political divides. Bruce Borgerson from our local Braver Angels team spoke to Rotarians on April 3rd about his work in this effort. Despite Braver Angels work in the political world, they remain neutral between party lines and work hard to bring unity in the form of communication.
