The meeting featured a comprehensive presentation by Community Works regarding their support for survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking in Jackson County.
Advocacy & Support:
Community Systems Advocacy: Embedded advocates at SOU, Rogue Community College, and the Children’s Advocacy Center.
Justice Services: Advocates stationed at the Medford Police Department, Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, and the Jackson County Courthouse.
24/7 Helpline: Provides immediate crisis intervention, safety planning, and confidential support with legal privilege.
Housing & Shelter:
Dunn House Shelter: Confidential emergency shelter serving approximately 250 adults and children annually.
Transitional Living: Programs for homeless youth (ages 18-24) and survivors leaving the Dunn House (Mary’s Haven).
Rental Assistance: Provided to 218 survivors last year to facilitate sustainable housing.
Funding: Diversified through federal and state grants, marriage license fees, and private community donations
