Medford Rogue Rotary Foundation Celebrates 43 Years of Investing in Local Students
Last week’s Medford Rogue Rotary meeting was dedicated to celebrating the remarkable impact of the Medford Rogue Rotary Foundation during its Annual Meeting.
Established in 1983 with just $2,000 dedicated to helping local students pursue higher education, the Foundation has grown into a lasting legacy of generosity and community investment. Today, Foundation assets exceed $4 million, ensuring that scholarships will continue to open doors for generations of Southern Oregon students.
Over the past 43 consecutive years, the Foundation has awarded more than $3 million in scholarships, helping 520 students pursue their educational dreams. This academic year alone, 40 local students will receive $134,000 in scholarship assistance, continuing a tradition that began with just four $500 scholarships in 1983.
The Foundation’s success is made possible through the generosity of Medford Rogue Rotary members, community supporters, memorial scholarship funds, and visionary donors who believe that investing in education strengthens our entire community. Today, sixteen separate scholarship funds provide opportunities for students from a variety of backgrounds, ensuring that financial barriers do not stand in the way of opportunity.
During the annual meeting, Foundation trustees also shared updates on the Foundation’s stewardship and finances, highlighting the careful management that allows donor contributions to make a lasting impact year after year.
