President-Elect Learning Seminar Overview
Amazing 2 ½ day training program in Seattle with about 600 fellow Rotarians from the Pacific Northwest, both Canada and the U.S., in attendance. Very well-organized event where each of the President-Elects had the opportunity to create an agenda of classes that best fit their needs. I attended 7 different classes/workshops, received one-half day training specific to our district, was treated to 6 different presentations by great keynote speakers (including the 2025-26 President-Elect of Rotary International Mario Cesar Martins de Camargo), and had the chance to meet and talk to 100’s of other incoming presidents facing similar challenges in their clubs and all sharing a mix of excitement and nervousness of what we are in for. What a great experience! And the food wasn’t too shabby either.
Big shout out to both Kellie Hill and Ian Foster who also attended PELS and helped to make it a great experience for all of us newbies. Kellie was a terrific Learning Leader, teaching two classes; “Successful Clubs” and “Energizing Your Rotary Club”. And Ian, along with several of his incoming Assistant Governor peers, provided PELS concierge-like services helping us new to the event find our meeting rooms and answer on-the-fly questions as we moved en masse from seminars, speaking events, meals….
A terrific and super helpful event thanks to the efforts of many, many dedicated Rotarians.
